ok so I'm still here - I didn't run away to a warmer climate - although it is still a tempting thought.
yes it's 5AM and I'm awake;
I'm baking a cake.
No, I am not exactly domesticated - i can cook some things that I like or that I've concocked/perfected but I'm really not much of a foodie.
but here I am - baking a cake and what an all-day event or should I say an all night event.
the creative in me accepted the challenge - it's my brother's birthday and even though he wont eat my cooking, I'm still baking him a cake for his birthday. Today is his birthday and even though we fight like cats and dogs, I still love'em and yes I confess, my efforts are motivated by the request of my mother "Someone please bake him a cake, he fixed the furnace."
and since she asked, so I am doing.
you know, really, it's as much her day if not more than it is his.
ok so nothing boring - if he's not going to eat it, atleast it should be some good eye candy for a family critique.
You should have seen the cake my bro baked for our dad back in December! loved it!
It looked like an 8 yr old decorated it - White frosting with Hersey's syrup smiley face that ended up with a bindi -
when my mom got up that morning she was nice about it and thinking I had made it - haha. too funny.
(I've threatened numerous times that if I had a cam corder we'd all be LIVE on the internet - I would charge a $1 monthly membership fee for 24/7 viewing - trust me, someone would pay a dollar to visit another world and right here at home.)
ok so back to what prompted me to vent - I've been experimenting with this paste in the studio - GOLDEN Acrylic Medium -
it's like frosting! too fun and so now that I'm getting ready to frost the b-day cake, I need a palette knife.
